The Whistler – A Noteworthy Spirit.
Boann Distillery is independently owned and run by the Cooney family, whose rich drinks industry heritage and entrepreneurial spirit lead the way for our Whistler Range. It is named after the original whistler, himself, Pat Cooney, whose whistling tunes echo through our distillery.
In Ireland, whistling is more than a pastime or tuneful habit – it’s an echo of our heritage where messages once travelled on the breath of a tune. Today the art of whistling is kept alive by only a few. By composing our Whistler range, we are honouring this tradition, as well as Pat himself, whose dream it was to establish this innovative distillery.
